So here goes:
It was Winter in 1983, and I woke from bed because I was cold and couldn't sleep. So I got out of my bed and decided to go outside for a walk. Barefoot of course.
I opened the front door and my neighborhood turned into a large open snowy field. I stepped outside and felt the need to explore. I mean, what three year old wouldn't want to go out in the middle of the night barefoot in the snow?
The field appeared as if it went on for miles. As I continued walking, I noticed that the snow slowly began to melt. After the snow all melted I could see more clearly in the distance. I soon started to approach a really old distressed barn. It was rather scary looking and uninviting. Oddly enough, I wasn't going to let fear keep this three year old from exploring.
As I opened the barn doors all I could see was black. Nothing but endless black. I felt scared and brave all at the same time.
I slowly stepped forward and began walking - tip toeing. You know that feeling when you sense that someone is watching you? That's how it felt in that dark barn. I heard squealing and hissing sounds. I slowly continued forward and felt something land on my right shoulder. It was too dark to see it, but I knew whatever it was, that it wasn't going away anytime soon. The darkness in the barn was starting to cease and I knew that if I turned my head, I would now be able to see what was sitting on my shoulder. I looked over and looking right back at me was a spider with eight red glowing eyes - he opened his mouth and said BOO! I jumped about ten feet off the ground and screamed in fear. The only thing that I felt I needed to do at that point WAS RUN! But my legs weren't moving. In fact I was just standing there watching more and more of the same type of spider appear all around me in the barn. Hundreds of them. What a tangled web I weaved for myself. I started yelling for my mom and eventually my feet started to work again and I ran out of that barn running for my life. I just kept running and running and I knew I wasn't safe until I made it back home. I finally arrived to my house, went in the kitchen and made a glass of chocolate milk. I needed a drink since I just ran for miles it seemed. I eventually made my way up the stairs and to my room. I decided I had enough adventure for the night and quietly went back to bed.
